Spacehey profiles are an eyesore
NOTE: This used to be on Spacehey, and is now archived here. I'm not open to discussing this blog.
I fully understand that Spacehey is meant to be a Myspace revival where you express yourself visually and all the glittery gifs that lag my browser are supposed to be "2000score" and rebellious to modern social media, and if anyone's against it or even has the slightest negative opinion about this then they're obviously just some loser poser that should go home and back to their brainrotting modern social medias.
I... still don't like most Spacehey profiles.
Most profiles hurt my eyes and I have to switch to "read only" mode, they usually have a small part about their layout's css code that pisses me off, like that scanline filter, the floating elements or the heaps of images that take multiple minutes to load in fully. I probably am a boring person that's allergic to fun, but over the years I've slowly appreciated and now actively enjoy plain-text profiles with no graphics.
Oh okay fine! I admit my profile (and this blog layout) conveniently fits into that description. I might be a bit self-centered.
If I'm being honest to the point of being unlikable most kinds of graphics piss me off and I wish I had a big red button that acts like a script that makes a "display: none;" code to all of the image elements on that profile.
Most of the time images and gifs don't serve a purpose other than just make you have to scroll for longer, gifs haunt your vision with their little blinking animations, and Marquees aren't that much different other than haunting you with their little sliding animation. My forehead rests on my fingertips once I see the dreaded "stamps/blinkies" collection. Don't get me started on autoplay.
At this point my senses are tired and I yearn for more plain profiles. Maybe this is why beige is my favorite color because anything with actual saturation pains me, if I wasn't a minor right now I'd be a sad beige mom as we speak.
After writing all of this, I've accepted and started to embrace the fact I am a boring fun-allergic person. Maybe there is someone out there with the same sentiment as me, the both of us could be boring together, and have boring, purely plain-text profiles aswell. Allergic to the <img> HTML tag.
If Spacehey layouts were alive right now I'd make and publish a completely plain, two-tone customizable layout right now. We could have plain HTML document-looking profiles as we speak, but Spacehey layouts has bitten the dust and thus we are in the constant purgatory of using the same layouts Spacehey layouts provided us when they were still alive, forever damned.
Forever doomed. UnlessIfYouKnowCSSLikeIDoHeeHeeHee
The End.
